Glade Festival got their venue pulled at the last minute - but the show will go on in Norfolk...

Glade Festival has been plagued with problems. There were the issues with sound restrictions leading them to move a couple of years ago, then they cancelled 2010's festival, then it all looked like it may happen this year when they scored a new site. But at the last minute, Mansion House pulled out!
But happily, the Glade Team have scored a beautiful new site, and not a moment too soon. This year, Glade will be held at Houghton Hall, Norfolk. Privately owned by the Marquess of Cholmondeley no less, the new space has trees, is miles from local housing meaning there is no one to disturb and best of all, the private ownership means no one can pull the plug at the last minute. He said:
"We are delighted to be hosting Glade Festival at Houghton Hall this summer. This is a new event for Houghton but something we thinnk will work well inthe beautifl and historic park. We welceom the new management team who come highly recommended and have an outstanding portfolio of events. We are excited to see what they do with The Glade and look forward to working with them".
Festival Director Ans said: "The new site, whilst being a bit further away from London, is by far superior. It is set in beautiful, privately owned 5,000 acre Estate which set in beautiful parkland laid out in the 1720's. It is also on sand, meaning excellent drainage, so we won't be having a repeat of the floods of 2009, regardless of the weather."
We hope you stick with us and continue to support The Glade and all it stands for. We can't wait to host the best party of the summer.....we understand the this change of venue is a big pain and may have ruined travel plans - if you have been affected and need our help don't hesitate to email info@gladefestival.com and one of the team will be in touch ASAP"
Three cheers for The Glade.
