Glastonbury have announced their line-up!

Proof that Glastonbury is still the best festival on the planet (as if it were needed), this line-up spans four pages and every genre known to man.

They have come in for some stick in recent years for their pop-centric programming, but there is always genuinely something for everyone at the music feast. This year there are some curveballs as usual - but there are also some absolute winners. Morrissey is warming up for U2, Wu Tang Clan ain't nuthin to F with, Paul Simon is warming up for Plan B, (bet he never saw that one coming) and Pendulum get things started in preparation for Beyoncé. (What are Pendulum doing on the Pyramid Stage?)

Over on the Other Stage things are looking equally mixed, with Primal Scream laying it down Friday night, but then they throw in the odeous Chipmunk, followed by Jessie J and Jimmy Eat World on Saturday. They redeem themselves on Sunday with Queen's Of The Stone Age closing proceedings on the final night. Dan Mangan is also playing the Other Stage, which makes me very happy.

West Holts has some interesting stuff, Janelle Monae popping her funk, plus Kool and The Gang, Little Dragon and Hercules and Love Affair. (An odd Chase and Status addition on friday night though - surely they are better off in the dance village?)

The Park is one of the best stages – a beautiful field with a sloping stage front - and it's the secret gigs that really make their mark (in recent years they've had shows from The Dead Weather and Radiohead), this year they've got Sea of Bees, Lykki Li, Caribou and Crystal Castles.

Dance-wise it's as you'd expect - big acts in a huge tent - but we rarely venture down that way, preferring to keep it real at the stages and in Shangri-La.

All in all, we are now literally buzzing with excitement about the best festival on the planet.

Glasto, we bloody salute you!

A reminder - the ticket resale occurs this Sunday April 17th at 9am.
