Jay Z answers the call to go Wireless

Jay-Z has announced plans to headline London’s Wireless festival on the 4th July.

The ubiquitous star’s career doesn’t show sign of waning any time soon; instead it looks like going from strength to strength, with two Brit Awards nominations for this year’s 30th Anniversary show.

As for Wireless in Hyde Park, it looks like Jay-Z is going to pinch Kanye’s tour guide for the weekend, as Mr. Hudson is set to support him on the day; quite a turnaround from those Halcyon days when Kanye West supported Mr. Hudson at a hugely successful show at the Roundhouse last year. The two have also enjoyed success with the collaboration on hit ‘Young Forever’.

Last time Mr. Carter played Wireless was in 2008, following his headline slot at that year’s Glastonbury. Two years down the line, he follows a similar blueprint by playing two UK festivals: he's also due to headline Isle of Wight in June.

Other confirmed acts for the weekend festival include Pink, Ting Tings, Temper Trap and Gossip.
