Kendal Calling Needs You Artists Out There

art mural at last year's Kendal Calling

Ever thought as you walk past one of those utterly bizarre art installations at festivals or shake your head in dismay at the quite absurd choice of decorations, that you could do much better?

Then this is your chance to shine. The organisers of Kendal Calling Festival are on the hunt for the creative and inventive to exhibit their work and win the chance to work with the great outdoors. What's more, Kendal Calling are doing the right thing and offering grants for the final chosen projects.

Ideas and designs can range from sculptures and interactive installations to inventive performance and hidden discoveries. Full artistic licence is the rule, with no thematic demands.

Previous site art has seen the likes of Uncle Monty’s living room from ‘Withnail and I’, 'Pollock's Corner', a set of white furniture splattered à la Jackson Pollock by revellers, and many more visual feasts.

Applications are now open to one and all, and will close on 10th May 2010. Please go to the Kendal Calling website to download an application and send completed submission ideas to art@kendalcalling.com
