Line-ups, updates and news for Land Of Kings 2012

  Land of Kings
When
Frdiay 4th - Saturday 5th May 2012
Where: Various venues around Dalston
How Much: £30 for a two-day wristband

Dalston's rival to Shoreditch's Stag and Dagger and Camden's Crawl, Land of Kings is a one-wristband, mulit-venue celebration of everything that makes North East London such a hotspot for fixie-bike lovers and Guardian readers.

Taking over various venues around the Kingsland Road-Shacklewell Lane crossroads, the line-up is usually split directly down the middle, with half devoted to up-and-coming DJs playing everything from dubstep to crunk, and the other given over to the area's DIY band scene.

There's also a healthy dose of contemporary art, with this year's highlight probably an interactive experience by conceptual artist BestCleo, for which guests are invited to enjoy a three-course meal in Cafe Bliss on Dalston Lane, whilst also watching live music, bingo, a philosophy lecture and ballet performance. The aim, apparently, is to explore ideas around mental health. Intriguing.
