The world's oldest festival, the Reading Festival, has gone through many changes since its inception as a spin-off from the National Jazz Festival in the 1960s.
Having consolidated its position as one of the most popular alternative rock festivals in the world, the Reading festival now works alongside its northern twin, the Leeds festival.
