Line-ups, updates and news for the London Literature Festival 2011.

When: 30th June - 14th July
Where: Southbank Centre
Price: Various prices
The London Literature Festival returns to Southbank this year, with a line-up that somehow manages to make last year's impressive collection of personalities pale in comparison.
The festival's always been a themed event, and this year is no exception. In 2011 LonLitFest is based on the themes of Great Thinkers, National Treasures, State of the Nation and Futurology. It's also part of the 60th anniversary celebrations of the Festival of Britain, so you can fairly expect some patriotism and National pride.
There's a wide range of exclectic attendees scheduled to appear, artists covering all manner of mediums; from writers, poets, artists, architects, musicians and performance artists, and more than a few celebrities included for good measure.
After a seveen year publishing hiatus, Booker Prize-winning cult author Alan Hollinghurst will hold a launch event for his new book The Stranger’s Child.
There's a regular cavalcade of award-winning authors showcasing their work at the festival, Elif Shafak, Turkey's biggest-selling female novelist reads from her new novel The Fourty Rules of Love.
Acclaimed children's author Michael Morpurgo is holding a question-time event with questions from the audience, and he'll be reading extracts from his prolific collection of works in this show of the whole family.
Needless to say, it's not all novels at the Festival; poetry is a big part of the proceedings, with Joelle Taylor, Philip Wells, Karen McCarthy and Yemisi Blake leading a workshop on the Saturday, so here's your chance to take part and work with some of the leading poets working today in the UK scene.
For a little literary departure, Mig Kimpton will be giving a talk on the history of flower arranging. Award-winning writer and performance artist Michael Pinchbeck is bringing his parents along, for a staged recreation of the night his parents met after seeing a production of The Sound of Music.
If you fancy a bit of a sit-down and relax, there are numerous film screenings taking place, with a one-off showing of Ben Rivers' Slow Action, and a presentation of a short film made by the students at Dunraven School.
There's way too much planned for us to be able to cover even a percentage of it here, but check out www.londonlitfest.com for a full line-up and schedule for the event. With such a wide-range of featured events there's going to something for every taste.
