Line-ups, dates and news for Monegros Festival 2011.

When: 23rd July 2011
Where: Fraga, Spain
How much: 49 Euros

Monegros ignited in 1994 as a birthday celebration for the owner of Spain's notorious Florida 135 Club. Since then it has grown from 300 people to 40,000 and is today apparently the biggest electronic rave party in Spain.

Monegros Festival occurs annualy in the Monegros Desert that lies between Barcelona and Madrid, near the town of Fraga. It consists of a 20-hour party with over five different stages that blast out dance fuel by some of the world's best live acts and DJs.

If you're coming from the UK then it's advisable to fly in and out of Barcelona, where there are regular trains to Llieda, with shuttle buses organised to collect people from the station. Alternatively you can drive, with parking available for all ticket holders as well as various campsites dotted about the surrounding area for those who wish to stay a bit longer.

It's described by regulars as a truly unique experience – lost in the blinding heat of the Spanish desert, an unmissable festival for anyone who is passionate about electronic dance music.

The festival showcases DJs and artists from drum 'n' bass, techno, hip hop, dubstep, minimal tech, electro and all other denominations of dance genres. Past artists include Richie Hawtin, Luciano, Sven Vath, Riccardo Villalobos, Buraka Son Sistema, Carl Cox, Orbital and Dave Clarke. This year's line-up, still yet to be announced, will inevitably be huge.
