Donate a £1 to Raise Rise Festival

Rise is asking for the 100,000 atendees of 2008 to donate just £1 so that the anti-racism festival can go ahead. Since Boris Johnson made the rather mindboggling decision to do away with its anti-racism message in 2008, Rise suffered a slight crisis in confidence and they need you to help bring it back to life.

Rise music festival was a massive, one-day festival that took over Finsbury park, Rise drew together a vast range of musicians from all corners of globe, and weaved them together like a brightly coloured tapestry.

Aside from the fact that the festival was free, the best thing about Rise is its embodiment of a community spirit, which ties into the anti-racism principles (and overt political message; 'London United Against Racism') on which it was initially founded.

The festival has many well known supporters who include Roots Manuva and Asian Dub Foundation.
