Permanently featuring in the Best Family Festival category of the UK Festivals Awards and set atop a Cumbrian hillside, Solfest is back for a glorious eighth year this August bank holiday.
 
Whilst boasting an assault course of kids’ activities to tucker out a small army there’s also over 100 acts from the musical worlds of indie, world, rock, folk, dance and roots including Cast, The Stranglers and Camille O'Sullivan.
 
What with a view of the Lake District, the Galloway Hills and Isle of Man, Solfest also features seven stages and various tents for open-mic sessions, a Solar cinema, an indoor market and local food stalls.
