Due to the recent disaster in Japan earlier this month, The Red Bull Music Acadamy will be announcing another location for the academy on April 11th.

The Red Bull Music Academy will no longer be held in Tokyo this year. The announcement comes after news of the horrific Tsunmai disaster that struck Japan earlier this month resulting in severe problems at the Fukushima Nuclear Plant. The Red Bull Music Academy have consequently decided to extend the application date for the academy while they choose a new location.

The new site will be announced on Monday 11th April, with application dates being extended to 26th April. The dates of the workshops organised from 23rd October to 25th November will remain the same.

To show their continued support for Japan, Red Bull have agreed to go ahead with the Red Bull Music Academy Floor at SonarSound in Tokyo this weekend, with all profits made going to help and rebuild those effected by the terrible events of March 11th.

The ammended dates now stand as follows:

Red Bull Music Academy 2011
Workshop 1: October 23rd – November 4th, 2011
Workshop 2: November 13th – November 25th, 2011
Announcement of new location: April 11th
Application period extended – NEW DEADLINE: April 26th
