From pop-up restaurants to beer festivals: our selection of the five best food and drink events taking place across London next month.

Black Pig and White Pearls

Friday 2nd March
Black Pig & White Pearls @ Secret Location
£35, 8pm
After launching back in October 2011, splendidly named Spanish pop-up restaurant Black Pig and White Pearls is back again, this time in a nineteenth century, Grade II listed building in Dalston, with high wooden beams and stained glass windows. The four-course menu looks like a cracker, with squid ink rice and slow-cooked rabbit. A Dj and Flamenco guitarist add to the authentic Spanish vibe.

Wednesday 7th – Friday 9th March
London Drinker Beer & Cider Festival @ Camden Centre
£3.50; from 12pm
A bit of a treat for beer and cider lovers this month. The splendid folks at the Campaign for Real Ale are putting on a three-day festival devoted to the good stuff, with hundreds of varieties on show from independent breweries across the UK and worldwide. This year there's particular emphasis on perry, a type of cider made from pears, whilst food is provided by CAMRA volunteers. Expect appropriately hearty fare.

Thursday 8th March
La Festa Della Donna @ Cantina Del Ponte
£50; 7pm
Yes, the 8th March is International Women's Day, known in Italy apparently as La Festa della Donna. To celebrate, Cantina del Ponte have put together a special menu, with a focus on light spring flavours – think taglioni with salmon and courgette flowers, or risotto with pears and prosecco. In addition there's an auction to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care, and topless waiters. A classic Italian combination...

Wednesday 28th March
Toasting the Oyster @ Wright Brothers
£45; 7pm
Toasting the Oyster – it may sound like a saucy euphism, but it's actually an oyster-themed evening organised by WineChap. Taking place at the brand new Raw Bar at Wright Brothers Soho, the evening involves a selection of different wines, paired with signature oyster dishes (like Kilpatrick, Rockafeller or Iberico Jamon) by Executive Chef Dave Gingell, formerly of the Wolseley and Terroirs. A real treat for all you oyster lovers out there.

Friday 30th March
Persian Supperclub @ Secret Location
£40 (suggested minimum donation); 7pm
A Persian supperclub special courtesy of Sabrina's Kitchen this March. Cookery teacher, writer and supperclub host, Sabrina Ghayour invites guests into her Islington home for a combination of modern and traditional Persian cuisine. Expect a range of dishes – you're advised to “come hungry!” – with previous specials including the delicious-sounding sumac-crusted shoulder of lamb. Yum!
