From pop-up restaurants to markets and masterclasses: our selection of the five best food and drink events taking place across London next month.

The Stewhouse

Friday 3rd – Saturday 4th February
The Stewhouse @ The Dead Dolls Club
£20
Hackney art collective The Dead Doll's Club are once again hosting The Stewhouse, a special pop-up restaurant in association with Hendrick's Gin. The starters vary according to what's available from the market, but for mains, it's stew: expect the likes of Welsh cawl, wild boar, or venison with port and chocolate. There's also guest mixologists, immersive performances and specially commissioned artwork from Victorianaphile Dan Hillier.

Saturday 11th February
South Lambeth Market @ Cavendish Arms
Free, 10am-4pm
A community-led market focusing on food as well as arts, crafts and plants, South Lambeth Market is back this February with a bit of a pre-Valentine's special. Taking place inside and outside the Cavendish Arms, there's over 40 stalls selling all manner of goodies. Look out in particular for delicious homemade cakes from Blueberry Hill Cakes. Plus, the menu for Sam, Laurie and Liam's Grill sounds like a cracker.

Saturday 11th February
Eat Rich or Die Trying @ Kemistry Gallery
£45, 9.30pm
Like sugar? Then, holy meringues, this is the event for you. The ever-awesome Blanch & Shock have teamed up with Teatime Productions, The Curious Confectioner and Andrew Stellitano for a special late-night dining extravaganza at Kemistry Gallery in Shoreditch. Kicking off at 9.30pm and lasting 'til 1am, visitors are treated to no less than six courses – all of which are desserts. Expect “meticulous design, folklore, culinary experimentation and ritual” apparently. Yum!

Saturday 18th February
Norse by Norsewest @ 161 Whitecross Street
£45, 8pm
The reliably inventive Disappearing Dining Club host a night dedicated to all things Scandinavian this February. Inspired by the success of places like Rene Redzepi's Noma in Copenhagen, Scandi food is enjoying a massive renaissance. Sample elk sausage roll with juniper berries, potato dumplings, potted reindeer, oysters with pickled cucumber and roast swede and celeriac with nettles and marjoram to find out why. All washed down with homemade Aquavit.

Wednesday 29th February
Matchmaking for Gourmets @ Fortnum & Mason
£35, 6pm
Screw speed-dating, this is the kind of matchmaking we're interested in. Yes, Fortnum's are hosting an evening dedicated to pairing fine wines with delicious foods. Pootle round the counters on the lower ground floor, sampling such delicacies as wild smoked salmon, Iberico ham and hand-raised pork pie with a selection of expertly matched wines. Oh, and the ticket price is redeemable against any purchases made on the night, which is always good to know.
