Taking place in one of London’s most popular areas, the Covent Garden Christmas Delight events have quite a responsibility to measure up when it comes to providing a Christmas experience for the hordes of people passing through on their way to buy Christmas gifts, attend Christmas theatre or simply get out of the cold. With the nearby Oxford Street Christmas lights earning a significant share of the attention, it might be easy to overlook Covent Garden Christmas offerings. The highlight of the 2008 holiday season in Covent Garden is the Covent Garden Christmas Delight fair which will be bringing a whole, dare we say heavenly, host of Christmas events with a thrifty budget in mind. Entry is free to view the stunning Christmas lights and decorations, and to take part in the interactive lights show by having a play around with the LCD light’s controller box. The Covent Garden’s Christmas Shop of Delight will also be on hand to help visitors learn how to make their own Christmas decorations (1-7 Dec), bake mince pies, puddings and other Christmas treats (8-14 Dec) and restyle old outfits into a new, fashionable wardrobe (15-21 Dec).
