Our pick of things to do in London this August Bank Holiday...

Friday – Monday, 26th - 29th August
It’s Great Outdoors! @ National Theatre
Striking out with brazen faith in the coming bank holiday’s meteorological outlook, the National Theatre host a long weekend dedicated to the pursuit of fun outside, starting with The Big Sleepover. There's campfires, storytelling and barbecues on the Friday, an afternoon arts and crafts on the Saturday, and The Alternative Village Fete on the Sunday and Monday.
Sunday 28th August
Eastern Electrics @ Great Suffolk Street Warehouse
Clubbers inclined to step slightly off of the beaten trail might do well to consider the underground phenomenon that is the Eastern Electrics warehouse rave. This time round sees the diverse musical talents of everyone from Robert Dietz to Riva Starr, Zombie Disco Squad to Dark Sky and heading up the bill is rising prodigy miss Maya Jane Coles. Plus, there's a rare live show from drum and bass and dubstep sensation, Icicle.
Saturday 27th August
Earnest Endeavours x Dante Fried Chicken @ Space Studios
Dante Ganzales – visionary artist, musical enthusiast and, crucially, wildly celebrated alternative chef – brings his somewhat confused but entirely wonderful notion of what maketh the great night out, all the way from New York City. Joining forces with off-beat imprint and party-starters, Earnest Endeavours, to bring the food and the funk all under one roof.
Sunday 28th August
Adams and Rea @ Camden Head
Musical comics Sarah Adams and Leisa Rea flaunt their many strings (guitar, banjo and ukulele), wittily reeling off their original homages to the dull trials and tribulations of everyday life. Playing a variety of musical styles – flamenco, calypso, ragga and rap – they regale ballads and anti-litter limericks; all the while jibing hilariously at one another.
Monday 30th August
The Spitalfields Bank Holiday Vintage Market
Judy’s Affordable Vintage Fair, the largest vintage fair of its kind, has been exponentially multiplying since it started up in 2005. Now they have joined forces with the Old Spitalfields Market to present a bank holiday special, selling boutique furniture and homeware, retro records and of course the all-important vintage clothing and accessories.
