Everyone knows that children have too much energy and can't get to sleep on Christmas Eve, so Spoonfed have put together a list of activities to occupy those curious kiddies. If they aren't worn out after all this lot, we'll eat our Santa hats.

For kids who like the theatre but can't sit still, this production at Battersea Arts Centre will have them running all over looking for Borrowers and helping them escape the KBD (Keep Borrowers Down)

Zippos Circus present Ciruq D'Hiver at Winterwonderland @ Hyde Park
If spectacle is your thing, try Zippos Circus. With a wide range of acrobatics and aerialists combined with a narrative, this should keep the kids wide-eyed and be entertaining for parents as well.
Best for: kids who like to ooh and aah
Ice Rink @ Natural History Museum
Winter isn't winter without ice and falling on your bum. For fresh air and exercise, ice skating is always good fun and the Natural History Museum have got the perfect rink.
Best for: kids who can't sit still
The Night Before Christmas @ New Ambassadors Theatre
Every kid knows that Christmas is about the fat jolly man and presents, so the New Ambassadors Theatre has both whilst explaining the true meaning of Christmas through songs, poetry and storytelling. Maybe Father Christmas can teach his mischievous friend the Elf not to keep all the presents back for himself and give some to the audience!
Best for: meeting Santa
David Wood's Storytime @ Rose Theatre
David Wood has been writing for children for years and will be at the Rose Theatre to re-enact the story of the Gingerbread Man. There's also a bit of magic from Funny Bunny and a visit from Santa.
Best for: a bit of quiet time
Penguin Feeding Time @ London Zoo
Who doesn't love penguins?! It's penguin feeding time every day at London Zoo at 2pm, so you can go along and watch these daft birds gulp down their fishy lunch.
Best for: Pingu and Happy Feet lovers
Shark Talk and Feed @ London Aquarium
If you like your fish a little bit bigger and toothier, the sharks at London Aquarium get fed at 2.30. And there's a talk beforehand, so it's educational too.
Best for: those with bigger fish to fry
Wilton's Vintage Christmas @ Wilton's Music Hall
With a glass of mulled wine for you and roasted chestnuts for the young'uns, there's music hall, jazz, activities and festivities at Wilton's Music Hall.
Best for: traditional Christmas entertainment
Cosmos and Culture @ Science Museum
For those who are fascinated by the universe, this will be sure to answer some questions about the cosmos with lots of things to look at.
Best for: curious kiddies
Anansi @ Southwark Playhouse
If you're bored of panto, this could be the show for you. Ananasi is an African fairytale about a spider who sets out to rescue all the stories in the world. Andy Serkis provides the voice Nyame the Sky God, that grumpy Scrooge who has locked all the stories away.
