Blood Red Shoes, Theme Park and Willy Moon announce live dates and new releases

Blood Red Shoes, Theme Park and newcomer Willy Moon have all got big things planned this Spring.

We’re barely a week in to 2013 and already the singles, albums and tour announcements are flooding in. If you’re still in the recovery position from New Year’s and can’t quite cope with the influx of information, here’s an easily-digestible round-up of a few acts making waves this spring.

First up we’ve got Oxford duo Blood Red Shoes. They’re set to drop their new EP, ‘Water’ on the 21st of January and they’ve also got a new video for their explosive new track ‘Red River’.

The video was shot during their first ever tour of Russia and features them cutting a swathe of good times and party vibes through the Red Square, tearing it up at some of Russia’s  finest live venues as well as getting stuck in customs for a bit.

If the ‘Red River’ has got you eager to catch Blood Red Shoes live in the flesh (and a bit closer to home) then you’re in luck as they’ll be playing a headline show at the o2 Sheperd's Bush Empire on January 22nd with support from noise-mongers Rolo Tomassi and the equally as thunderous Wet Nuns.

Tonight by Theme Park

Next up are indie three piece Theme Park who have got a lot on their plate in 2013. Their newest disco-inflected single ‘Tonight’ is produced by Friendly Fires’ hip-swayer Ed McFarlance and is slated for vinyl release and digital download on February 18th.

Not ones to hang about, they’ll be dropping their eponymous debut album the week after on February 25th before spending the month of March trekking the UK as part of an 11 date tour. March 14th will see the boys headlining at Heaven and you’d be smart to get tickets to that as soon as possible as Theme Park’s last three London gigs were all sell out shows.

Last but not least we’ve got newcomer Willy Moon. If you don’t know him by name you’ll at least have heard his voice in the latest set of Apple adverts compelling iPod Nanos into movement like a modern day Pied Piper of Hamelin.

Last year was a pretty big one for this New Zealand born crooner. When he wasn’t supporting Jack White on his sold out arena tour, he was busy releasing  his single ‘Railroad’ Track on Jack's label 'Third Man Records', topping the BBC Radio 1 playlist with his most recent single ‘Yeah Yeah’ and giving an unforgettable performance on Later...with Jools Holland.

It’d be no stretch of the imagination to suggest that 2013 is probably going to be an equally fruitful year for Willy Moon as he’s already sold out the first London date of his debut headline UK tour. Don’t fret if you’ve missed out on tickets for his show at XOYO on February 12th, he’ll be coming back around on May 8th with a headline slot Camden’s Electric Ballroom. Tickets go on sale tomorrow.
