Louder than hell...

High Voltage is taking over Victoria Park this Saturday, and with the likes of Queensryche, Slash, Judas Priest, Thunder and Black Country Communion all taking the stage over the weekend, it will be the biggest rock event to hit the capital in decades.
To help you not to slip up and look like poser in front of all these gnarled rockers, we’ve come up these five rules to keep in mind when you’re trying to blag that ‘Ride the Lighting’ was the best Metallica album. It wasn’t just an excuse to trawl YouTube all afternoon, honest...
Break the Law
Being into metal is like being authority’s worst enemy.
Watch out for rip offs
Has anyone gone as far as Grim Reaper in the pursuit of the pure metal aesthetic? They must have spent hours turning an old tank into the ultimate metal battlewagon, and, let’s be honest, the scene where the guitarist slays the wolf man with his guitar solo has to be one of the greatest things to ever happen in a music video. So what did they get for so much blood, sweat and tears? Spike Jonz re-dubbing it to Weezer’s ‘We Are All on Drugs’. We admit that it’s kind of funny, but it somehow lacks the sheer ludicrousness of the original.
Beware! Slayer fans
Out of all music fans, Slayer fans are the most intense. They may not look like much, but these guys are like Imperial Stormtroopers, the dudes who hang out in Games Workshop and the weird disciples of some cult all rolled into one. Whatever you do, never argue with these guys. All they’ll do is yell ‘SLAYER’ really loud in your face until you give up.
Make love to the Devil
Don't just worship the devil, get freaky with him. You’ve got to show how much you care by committing to the unholy one in a nasty way.
Respect your elders
Remember that every time you cut holes in your jeans, nod your head to Lambofgod or rock that sleeveless denim jacket, you’re literally standing on the shoulders on giants. Respect the people who came before you, you wouldn't be here without them!
