'90s stalwarts set for Shepherd's Bush send off

Alternative-rock trio Dinosaur Jr have announced that they will tour the UK next month, culminating in a show at the Shepherd's Bush Empire on the 18th.
The Amherst, Massachusetts natives will play a ten-date tour, and are likely to plug last year's well-received LP 'Farm', alongside classic tracks from almost 20 years' worth of material and 8 other studio albums. Fellow US rockers Built to Spill have also been confirmed as special guests for the tour.
The band, who are famed for the soaring axe-work of white-haired, bespectacled frontman J Mascis, were highly influential in the early-'90s US rock boom and counted the likes of Nirvana's Kurt Cobain and the Lemonheads' Evan Dando as committed fans.
Following a high profile falling out between Mascis and bassist Lou Barlow, the band eventually called time in 1997, only to make a triumphant return to touring in 2005. Fans will be pleased that a fresh tour hints morale within the band is still high, and could signal more new material in the future.
Tickets for the Shepherd's Bush show on 18th May will be priced at £20.
