Londoners launch their new album with free show

Electronic popsters Hot Chip have confirmed that they will play a free show at Rough Trade East in Brick Lane this Tuesday, 2nd February.

The surprise gig is likely to showcase material from their new record, ‘One Life Stand’, which is released this week. It will also act as a taster for their full UK tour which starts later this month and culminates with two dates at London’s 02 Academy in Brixton on February 26 and 27.

The band rose to prominence in 2006 thanks to the top forty singles ‘Over and Over’ and ‘Boy from School’, both taken from their sophomore full-lengther, ‘The Warning’, which also charted.

Tickets for the one-off performance are very limited, with entry wristbands currently available only to those who purchase a copy of ‘One Life Stand’ directly from the Rough Trade East shop.

In the unlikely event that there are any wristbands still available by tomorrow evening, these will be given out on a first-come-first-served basis at the venue – so if the glasses-wearing glitch-meisters are your cup of tea then you are advised to get down there as early as possible.
