Like your Christmas presents early? Read on!

Ah Field Day. That magical day, once every year when Victoria Park ushers out all of the playing children and dog walkers and welcomes in 20,000 indie kids to whoop, go wild and feel woozy after too many fairground rides and festival burgers.

Well, as next year it’s an Olympic year, Field Day is going to be on a little earlier than usual. Taking place on the 2nd of June rather than in its usual August spot, it’s meant the promoters have had to release the line-up a bit sooner than previous years. However if you can get the feeling back into your fingers and project your mind to early summer, 2012, you’ll be pleased to know that next year is going to epic, even by FD standards.

In fact today’s announcement reads like a mix-tape from your most awesome ex-girlfriend. Not only have you got your big name items like Franz Ferdinand, Jeffrey Lewis, Hudson Mohawke, Beirut, The Vaccines and Metronomy, there’s also a whole smorgasbord of emerging talent like Outfit, Peaking Lights, Zulu Winter and Com Truise to keep music nerds like us happy. Bass heads will also be over the moon that the one and only SBTRKT has been announced on dance stage.

However, the best news is that this is only the first announcement, and we can all expect some pretty massive additions to be made between now and next June. It’s like the nu-Labour years all over again!

Early bird tickets are £39.50 and are available now. To see all the artists currently announced, check out Field Day’s website.
