Duo to go 'surf' with April release

Brooklyn’s bright-young-things MGMT have released details of their forthcoming sophomore record, ‘Congratulations’, and revamped their website in anticipation.
Despite intimating a predilection to “shoot heroin” and “fuck with the stars” on their lauded debut 'Oracular Spectacular', apparently what the shirt-shy band actually enjoy is holing themselves up in the studio with producer Pete ‘Sonic Boom’ Kember, formerly of Spacemen 3, to record new songs.
Their latest batch of collected chemical musings will drop on April 12, and includes song titles such as ‘Flash Delirium’, ‘Siberian Breaks’ and ‘Brian Eno’. Whilst this might suggest some kind of nu-rave ambient-prog fantasy, you can cool your warm jets, as reports suggest that ‘surfing’, rather than intergalactic missions, is the recurring theme.
Super fans can while away the 61 days until lift-off by heading over to the band’s website, which now features a countdown timer and a rather pleasant live webcam feed of a beach somewhere. In honour of the release, the first reader to identify said beach will win 2 tickets to our respect and admiration - stamped addressed envelopes to the usual address please.
