Morrissey speaks out against fur-wearing guards.

The legendary singer has spoken out against the use of fur, this time in an attack on the hats worn by the Queen's British Army Guards. The singer, famous for his time with The Smiths as well as his solo career is also a keen advocate of vegetarianism and animal rights.
Morrissey wrote an open letter to The Times newspaper in which he lamented the continuing use of Canadian Brown Bear fur for the guards hats when fake versions could easily be implemented. He appealed to the Queen herself asking if she new about the atrocities that go into the fur making process, stating that “The mere sight of each bearskin hat must surely jab at the Queen's heart”.
In the letter, which he signed “Morrissey, singer, Cheshire”, he commented that the continuing use of real fur for human material greed reflected “the human spirit at its lowest” and that it is not just the Queen, but a wider collective who need to have a a re-think about the vain considerations they have when wearing real fur.
Morrissey is currently taking a break after 2009's 'Years of Refusal' album.
