OK Go unveil new video for End Love

OK Go return once more with visual treats.

Brace yourself; it’s that time of year again, as OK Go attempt to continue the tradition of people remembering their videos more than their actual musical output. This time it’s for 'End Love', the next single to be released from their third album ‘Of the Blue Colour of the Sky’. The band plan to produce a video for every track from the latest album and after the previous success of OK Go videos for 'Here It Goes Again' and 'This Too Shall Pass', the band are on something of a creative streak, at least visually if not musically.

This video utilises time-lapse photography that allows a 21-hour long take to be squeezed into a four-minute pop song. The premise sees the band frolic around a park near their hometown of Silverlake, dancing with geese, sleeping on the grass and enjoying mass dancing come morning time.

As expected, the video is highly entertaining, if not as immediately attention grabbing as previous efforts. Dressed in individual colours, it looks like this may well be what the Teletubbies would be doing nowadays if they weren’t stuck somewhere in the BBC costume room. Nonetheless, you still find yourself commending the band for the dedication to the music video format as if MTV was only launching next week.

The actual song sounds like an indie-disco remix of a Prince b-side and while the electronic currents of the track move along nicely, it's about a minute too long and lacks any real memorable melodies or lyrics. Once again then, it's the striking visuals that remain OK Go’s legacy, but from the look of things, they seem quite content with that.
