After a successful run as Lady Macbeth, lads mag legend Abi Titmuss is to star in Lyn Howes' Stage Fright at Canal Cafe Theatre in February. Starring alongside Sion Tudor Owen (The Bill, Emmerdale). Abi plays an innocent minx who stirs things up for two best friends; teaching them some much needed life lessons in this tragicomedy.
Titmuss' stage credits include Lady Macbeth in the John Hale-directed Macbeth and Arthur Miller's sexually charged, semi-autobiographical Two Way Mirror. Sion Tudor Owen most recently starred in the West End production of Carrie's War. Tudor-Owen and Titmuss will be directed by What’s On Stage People’s Choice Award nominee and 2003 Theatre Person of the Year winner Emma Taylor.
Excited to work with Titmuss, Taylor has said: “I’m delighted that Abi is on board to play Geraldine, she is absolutely perfect casting and it goes without saying that she can act. She’s also a pleasure to work with. I think Abi has made a brilliant, not to mention very brave choice, and Lynn Howes has written a wonderfully relevant play about the times in which we live.”
LAMDA graduate Lyn Howes achieved credible success with her original fringe production, the bizarrely dark satire Bea- A Paranotmal Comedy. Her latest work Stage Fright, is billed as a thought-provoking comedy. It explores the struggle for supremacy between two actors and childhood friends who appear in the same production with the glamourous but naïve Geraldine (Titmuss). Pride, identity and reputations are at stake.
