Dame Vivienne Westwood is set to make an appearance at the Tabernacle in west London, and it's open to all. The punk fashion heroine will be reading from her manifesto, Active Resistance to Propaganda, at the Grade II listed building in Notting Hill on Sunday 1st November.
The premise of the manifesto is that "art gives culture and that culture is the antidote to propaganda.... the aim of the manifesto is to encourage all intellectuals in the fight against propaganda". Afterwards there will be an opportunity to ask questions, followed by a complementary drinks reception sponsored by Hendrick's Gin. Todd Hart of The Dalston Oxfam Shop will perform a DJ set.
The event has been organised by The Last Tuesday Society, who are renowned for regularly putting on all manner of fantastic events. The Last Tuesday Society also opened a contemporary art gallery in Bethnal Green in October.
