Animal Collective’s Panda Bear to play headline show in March

Panda Bear of Animal Collective has signed on to perform a long awaited London headline show this March.  All Tomorrow’s Parties have persuaded the psychedelic folk virtuoso, real name Noah Lennox, to play his first gig in our fine capital since 2007 on 11th March at legendary venue Heaven, with tickets on sale now.

As a multi-instrumentalist Panda Bear played a leading role in moulding the sound and style of last year’s critically acclaimed Animal Collective album Merriweather Post Pavillion and his own solo albums have not been short of plaudits, with 2007’s Person Pitch blend of upbeat, electronic folk-pop gathering praise and fans for the musician.

To get you in the mood, here are some (dubious) facts about pandas, courtesy of comedian David O’Doherty and his (brilliant) book 100 Facts About Pandas:

          -    All pandas are born female. Males are only created if a panda receives a fright in its first 48 hours of life. This is why some zoos employ panda spookers.

          -    Pandas are not considered a mammal – they are considered a nut; which is why Adolf Hitler, as a vegetarian, was allowed to feast on pandas.
