The Spoonfed Comedy Team selects the top 5 gigs in London this April.

Friday 1st April
The Fix presents The Return of Boothby Graffoe @ Bull and Gate

Boothby Graffoe's London gigs are so scarce that it’s hard not to get completely overexcited about this. The surrealist songwriter has spent the past few years writing for Omid Djalili’s BBC One show and touring with Canadian wit-pop group The Barenaked Ladies. Now he’s off on his own tour of the UK, performing whimsical songs from his latest album Songs for Dog's Funerals, as well as plenty of old classics. Backed by multi-instrumentalist Nick Pynn, this is a rare opportunity to see a true British comedy legend.

Monday 4th April
Tim Key: The Slutcracker @ Lyric Theatre

Tim Key brings his multi award-winning poetical s**tstorm to London for the last time. Slutcracker won the talented comic poet the main Edinburgh Comedy Award in 2009 - the highest accolade a comedian can receive in the UK. His act, combining very short poems with a comical stage persona is uniquely hilarious. It's no good us trying to explain why - you just have to see it for yourself.

Friday 22nd April
Colin Hoult: The New Adventures @ Leicester Square Theatre

A new regular monthly night of comedy, music, stories and surprises, presented by ground breaking character comedian, Colin Hoult. Each month Holt will present brand new material, characters and songs, alongside special guests. We've seen a couple of his new characters already including a jazz singer obsessed with St Germain and yes, they are pant-wettingly funny.

Friday 15th April
Twitter Joke Trial @ Bloomsbury Theatre

You might remember this story from January. After heavy snowfall delayed his flight to Ireland, Twitter user Paul Chambers tweeted his frustration: "Crap! Robin Hood airport is closed. You've got a week and a bit to get your shit together, or I'm blowing the airport sky high!!" Then he got arrested under the Terrorism act, was charged with sending a 'menacing message' and lost his job as a result. True story. To raise money for Chambers' High Court appeal fees, several high profile Twitter comics including Stephen Fry, Father Ted writer Graham Linehan and pub landlord Al Murray are performing a one off gig at the Bloomsbury Theatre. We're fairly sure that should stump up a few pennies for the poor bloke!

Saturday 30th April
Dom Joly: Welcome to Whereever I Am  @ Southbank Udderbelly

Trigger Happy TV's Dom Joly takes his first live show on tour, detailing the extraordinary events that have happened to him over the past ten years. From the perils of travelling the world drinking to skiing down volcanoes, holidaying in Chernobyl and North Korea, becoming a paparazzo, trying to fly across the Grand Canyon strapped to an eight foot rocket, turning into Tintin, being arrested in Switzerland while dressed as a yeti, discovering that he was at school with Osama Bin Laden and eating from Gillian McKeith's pants while imprisoned in the Australian jungle....it's safe to say, it's going to make for an entertaining show.
