April: London Theatre

April: London Theatre

by: Spoonfed Team

The Spoonfed Theatre Team pick out the best plays opening in London this April.

From 12th April
Lakeboat and Prairie Du Chien @ Arocola Theatre
Two great plays by the fantastic David Mamet performed at Arcola Theatre. Be warned, he's not everyone's cup of tea. Both plays look at the urgent and passionate thoughts that lurk beneath the minds of the mundane.

From 19th April
Tender Napalm @ Southwark Playhouse
You've got to be made of strong stuff for this one. The controversial and much acclaimed playwright Phillip Ridley returns with a new play that looks at power and the explosive sexual relationships between men and women.

From 19th April

Spill Festival @ The Barbican
Performance art and experimental theatre fills every corner of the Barbican. We recommend the brilliantly creative Glorious by Rajni Shah and the thoughtful works of Kings of England.

From 26th April
The Fat Girl Gets a Haircut and Other Stories @ The Roundhouse
Good characters are at the heart of good theatre. We're not talking kind characters, we're talking strong, bold, funny thoughtful characters. One of the masters of such fictional folk is Mark Storor. He presents a collection of his stories about the awkward teenage years at The Roundhouse

From 27th April

And The horse You Rode In On @ The Barbican
Cruel comedy theatre by a great company. Told by an Idiot won our hearts with The Farenheit Twins in 2009 and we're expecting something shockingly good and a bit provocative from them this year.
