Up for an Arctic Monkeys concert next week here in London? The Arctic Monkeys have added a London date to their London gigs tour schedule on 26 August. Believed to be a warm up for the Reading and Leeds festival, where the band is headlining, the gig will take place at the O2 Brixton Academy and will mark their first UK performance since 2007.
Tickets to the gig are limited to the band’s mailing list but you have until midnight today (Wednesday, 19 August) to sign up. If successful, lucky fans will be notified Thursday and allowed to scoop up two tickets. Sign up for the Arctic Monkeys mailing list and a chance to get your tickets on their show application page.
This is the second in the Artctic Monkeys' unusal show announcements, coming right on the heels of their "Golden Ticket" promotion. Fans who purchase their album "Crying Ligtning' on 7" from Oxfam have a chance to win tickets to the Reading and Leeds festival if they find a Willy Wonka-style golden ticket inside.
The Arctic Monkeys are headlining on the Saturday of the Reading and Leeds Festival over the August bank holiday weekend. Other bands set to play the weekend festival include Kings of Leon, Radiohead, Bloc Party and Fall Out Boy.
