Naima Khan selects the five best film screenings taking place across London this August.

Friday 24th & Saturday 25th August
Desperately Seeking Susan @ Troxy Cinema
“A life so crazy it takes two women to live it” Pahaha. A very decent choice for the Guilty Pleasures Cinema Party at Troxy Cinema. Given that this is a party, there will be singing, there will be dance troupes, and there will be DJs and cabaret in one form or another.
Saturday 18h August
The Big Lebowski @ Morden Hall Park
Yeah, that's what we thought too: 'Morden? You want us to go to Morden?' But Morden Hall Park is beautiful and away from Central, there'll be a brilliantly chilled atmosphere here. London Kettle Popcorn will be there plus, doing away with the whole local is better thing, Tucker's Exotic Meat Shack join the fun. And it's The Big Lebowski!
Saturday 18th August
The Goonies @ Queen's Park
'80s nostalgia galore for this Saturday night screening of an adventure classic at Queen's Park. Nomad Cinema promise “theatrical surprises” - we're guessing a lot of truffle shuffling? - and tapas, ice cream, wine and popcorn courtesy of Salt Yard Group.
Thursday 16th August
The Artist @ Opera Holland Park
This is a great space for a cinema and Luna Cinema are screening The Artist here 'cos they're classy like that. This is the one that won all the Oscars and had the adorable dog and was silent and captivating and stuff.
Friday 17th & Saturday 18th August
Glyndebourne @ Picturehouse Cinemas
Showing Le Nozze Di Figaro and the Ravel double bill, Picturehouse cinemas provide a brief portal to this 78 year-old opera festival that oozes stunning international orchestras and classic performances.
Robert Pattinson, Uma Thurman, sex and scandals: Declan Donnellan on Bel Ami
