Pete Doherty is running from the law and playing Lewisham

Just when you thought all the excitement of this year's gig season had abated, up pops Pete Doherty for the last word. As per usual. Yep, everyone’s favourite skinny rake is taking to the stage with his band Babyshambles tonight at Dirty South in Lewisham and, as usual, controversy is not far behind.

As you may or may not have heard, Doherty was arrested outside Gloucester Crown Court yesterday for drug possession, after narrowly avoiding a jail sentence for driving offences. Despite these brushes with the law, the organisers are keen to remind everyone that everything is still cool for the gig, with the band’s management adding that it was "all systems go".

Tickets are available from Ticketweb for £20. We’d recommend that everyone who hasn’t seen these guys attend, unless you’re in HM Wandsworth – Pete will no doubt be joining you very soon.
