Our awesome in house DJ Joe Europe takes a look at the next Bleep 43.

On Friday the 21st May Bleep43 will be returning with what promises to be one of their most show-stopping parties yet; presenting none other than Detroit legend and one of the founding fathers of Techno – Derrick May, at Corsica Studios.

To almost anyone who's into electronic music, Derrick May will need no introduction. But we'll give you one anyway... Part of the infamous Belleville Three who between them pioneered the sound that became known as techno; infusing the house sound coming out of Chicago with latin percussion, European electro-pop and sci-fi imagery. While in his early days it was his productions that inspired a legion of budding techno acolytes across the globe, in later years his focus shifted to DJing, and his sets have become nothing less than renowned.

While most promoters would be happy with just presenting one of the shining stars of electronic music, the Bleep43 crew have not left it there: joining Mr. May will be an eclectic and carefully selected line up of DJs from across Europe.

In support will be Intergalactic Gary, one half of Cocadisco and a central figure of The Hague’s vibrant electronic music scene. With over 25 years' experience behind the turntables, Intergalactic Gary has build up quite a reputation spinning an eclectic mix of Italo disco, techno and other electronic sounds.

Also joining these two will be Peter Mangalore and Ali Renault from the Human Shield Soundsystem. Based in Manchester, Peter and Ali are veterans of the UK scene and have been delivering their unique blend of disco, techno and electro at infamous nights such as Tabernacle and Atomic Jam for over 10 years.

Finally, Bleep43’s very own Jo Johnson, whose influences include the likes of Drexia and Steve Reich, will be serving up another of her carefully crafted sets of electronic music.

All of this adds up to an event that is surely not to be missed. Not only are Bleep43 presenting one of the most renowned and respected names in electronic music but also a strong line-up of players from the underground scene in one of the coolest venues in the capital.
