Former Culture Club frontman and male escort kidnapper Boy George is set to sing live next week at Camden's Proud Galleries. As part of the inauguration of the new monthly gay night DOSE, which he will curate, the writer of hits such as Karma Chameleon and Do You Really Want TO Hurt Me? has agreed to perform a one-off set of his own songs.
The news will come as a pleasant surprise to his legions of fans after many believed his career to be over following his conviction earlier this year for the assault and false imprisonment of Audun Carlsen, the latest in a series of indiscretions, stretching back to the mid-1980s when the star was arrested for heroin possession.
He will be joined for the opening night by wonder-boy Coby Koehl, who is flying in from New York City specifically for the event. In addition to this, The Tenor Ladies have been lined up to feature, with headline DJ sets from Jonny Slut and Fil OK.
