Desperate times call for desperate measures

Having finally exhumed every last penny from her late husband’s grave, grunge rocker Courtney Love has turned to her own ‘talents’ to drum up some cash. The worst wife since Mrs Macbeth has decided to return to performing with her band Hole, and thus announced a comeback show at Shepherd’s Bush Empire on February 17th, with tickets going on sale tomorrow.

The gig comes as part of the Shockwaves NME Awards Shows, and the magazine continues its tradition of idolising junkies by  signing up Babyshambles to play at KOKO the same night, obviously worried about the inevitable consequences should Love and Pete Doherty be allowed within a five mile proximity of one another.

The comeback was announced on Hole’s Facebook page, much to the delight of their legions of fans, who will be chomping at the bit to hear the band’s new album Nobody’s Daughter. Unfortunately for these fans though, this will not be the original line-up but a new group of musicians called in to perform. Most notably, it seems that co-founder Eric Erlandson and bassist Melissa Auf der Maur will not be appearing.
