Dance phenomenon Deadmau5 is set to ignite the O2 Brixton Academy in April 2010 with tickets for the event going on sale Friday 18 December.

The Canadian artist – real name Joel Zimmerman – has been confirmed to play live at one of London's best venues, tickets for which are set to sell out in record time.

The event will coincide with a new album (the first 'artist album') due for release in May of next year and will feature show stopping video and lighting production.

The Mau5 has enjoyed another hugely successful year after breaking onto the scene in 2007 and quickly establishing himself as a worldwide phenomenon with a distinctive style and unrivalled production values.

With the album 'For Lack Of A Better Name' and tracks such as 'Slip', 'Alone With You' and 'FML' the artist has taken over the dance community achieving critical acclaim, praise from fellow peers and armies of fans from across the globe.

His minimal and progressive house and electro which has breathed fresh air into the dance community matched with a sense of fun and an offbeat persona (that distinctive giant mouse's head) has contributed to a rise which resulted in a lofty 6th place in the recent DJ Mag 'Top 100 DJ's' poll.

Tickets to see Deadmau5 (and a promised brand new L.E.D Mau5head) go on sale at 9am Friday 18 December priced at £26.50 each.
