The Spoonfed Arts Team pick out the biggest exhibitions opening in London this December.

GSK _ Gillian Wearing

From 2nd December
GSK Contemporary - Aware @ Royal Academy
The Royal Academy's contemporary art extravaganza in association with GlaxoSmithKline (ooh edgy) returns for a third season, and this time it looks brilliant. The issue this time round is fashion, its relationship to art and impact upon our sense of identity – both individual and collective.

From 2nd December
East London Design Show
A whole host of art, craft and design by East London's top talent. In addition this year sees the whole thing going international, with work by designers from allover the world.

From 8th December
Raising Dust @ Calvert 22
An exploration of the relationship between identity and geography this winter at Calvert 22. Novelist and theorist Richard Appignanesi curates this multimedia show that features work by a range of contemporary artists, predominantly from Eastern Europe. Expect the idea of Europe - and indeed the very notion of a nation - to come in for questioning.

11th December
Jingle Bell Jive @ National Army Museum
A night of old-time fun-time jive-times at the National Army Museum this December. Step daintily back in time to a world of 1940s glamour, polka dots, lipstick, cocktails and shell-shock.

From 16th December
Simon Starling @ Camden Arts Centre
Celebrating five decades of the Camden Arts Centre, Simon Starling has cherry-picked works from past exhibitions at the gallery. These are then exhibited in exactly the same location as they were last time, alongside various notes, images and plans. Featuring Francis Bacon, Susan Hiller, and Richard Wentworth, among others.
