Good news; John Lydon has finally given up on those horrible Sex Pistols reunions and reactivated his seminal post-punk band Public Image Ltd for a series of winter dates just in time for the 30th anniversary of the release of the group's genre-defining 'Metal Box' album.
PiL, who have officially been on hiatus since 1992, have lined up a slew of UK dates this December, including a show at the cavernous Brixton Academy on the 21st of December. Jah Wobble fans be warned, this incarnation will feature Lydon as the only original member, with The Damned guitarist Lu Edmonds, former Slits drummer Bruce Smith and respected bassist John Martyn providing the backing.
Still, it's nice to see John Lydon doing something non-cringe worthy for a change. With all the butter adverts, Chelsea tractor driving and appearances on I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here we had started to think he'd really lost it.
Tickets for PiL's London date go on sale on the 11th of September. Click here to see more events at the O2 Academy Brixton.
