Flashmob planned for Trafalgar Square Tonight

Flashmob planned for Trafalgar Square Tonight

Never mind the zombie fallout from last week's Michael Jackson Thriller tribute; another flash mob plans to hit Trafalgar Square tonight for one hour starting 11pm. Organisers of the 'Funk Trafalgar Fancy Dress: Free For All' event are gathering a crowd of Friday night revellers to show up in their funkiest dress for an hour or spontaneous shuffling and partying - all in support of the charity Teens Unite Fighting Cancer.

The planned fundraiser is also part of Antony Gormley's Fourth Plinth project, where regular people get to occupy the monument in the name of self-expression. Dan 'Funkmaster' Flanagan, the man atop the plinth for the hour, will be blasting hip-hop and funk classics provided by the folks at discoscratch.com. London hip-hop outfit True Ingredients are making a guest appearance, supposedly on a double decker bus. A bus? In Trafalgar Square? Sounds like a party already.

Flanagan is comparing the event to 'that T-mobile advert, but funkier' (What are you trying to say about Pink mate?) So far, he's expecting a couple of hundred flash mobbers - and more when word really gets out.

In other news, Flashmob.co.uk are already reporting the next flash mob planned in London, where hundreds of people will freeze at Victoria Station on September 9 and er, pose as pregnant women to urge mothers with child to stop drinking alcohol. Spoonfed will probably have the details - watch this space, is what we're saying.
