Gallows Cancel Vice's Shoreditch Warehouse Show

Mystery illness lays low your favourite hardcore band.

Frank from Gallows

Watford hardcore punks Gallows have been forced to cancel three live dates, including this Friday's London Vice Show at the Scrutton Street Warehouse, due to guitarist Steph Carter falling ill.

The band, whose latest single 'Misery' was released on 30 November, posted an apology on their myspace page last night but did not provide any further details on Carter’s illness. Steve Rose, drummer for scheduled London support act Lovvers, didn't seem unduly perturbed, stating "he's pretty punk rock so he must be really ill".

This is not the first time Gallows have raised eyebrows by cancelling shows, having angered fans in New Zealand by twice pulling the plug on tours of the country.

The shows, which also included dates at the Watford Colloseum and Newcastle Academy, were due to be their last of 2009. However, despite the setback, the myspace message showed the band to be in ebullient mood, pledging to "come back better and stronger than ever in 2010".

The London Vice Show has been completely cancelled, but fans can have their tickets refunded at the point of purchase.
