The organisers of Glastonbury Festival have announced that the first batch of tickets for next year's event have sold out within 24 hours of their release. Despite the fact that no major artists have been announced for Glastonbury 2010, keen festival goers who registered in advance snapped up all the available tickets.
Registration reopened at 9am this morning to give other music fans the chance to reserve or buy tickets as a small number are expected to be released over the next few weeks. The cost of tickets for Glastonbury 2010 has risen to £185, but buyers were given the option of paying a £50 deposit to reserve a ticket until February 28.
Last week, Glastonbury Festival organiser Emily Eavis announced that planning was already under way for next year's five day event, which takes place in June at Worthy Farm, Somerset.
