House Party at Counter Culture

House Party at Counter Culture

The Bays come to Counter Culture.

So, Counter Culture continues its programme of 99 nights with something entirely different. "House Party" sees the pop-up venue transformed into a house-type setting, complete with a kitchen to chat rubbish in, beds to jump on, wardrobes to raid and even stuff to nick off the shelves. The madness goes on until 6am, with live bands and DJs to soundtrack the mayhem that will ensue. This is one house party you can wreak havoc at and not worry about the morning after... (except maybe a hangover).

Topping the bill are legendary improvisational band The Bays, a band who don't adhere to music industry rules in that they don't have any marketing team, promotional material or even records to sell – they're just renowned for their magnificent performances entirely from scratch, with no pre- rehearsed material whatsoever. They work off the mood of the audience and building a continuous set of anything goes, which can meld the genres of house, drum and bass, reggae, ambient electronica and more from across the music spectrum. The word 'eclectic' has never been so appropriate – The Bays produce something that has wowed audiences across the world, including Glastonbury and Big Chill festivals, and just needs to be seen.

Bringing in the support are none other than Bez from the Happy Mondays with a DJ set and no doubt a few of his infamous 'moves'; a Black Cat DJ set and a live performance from Bubbz and the Black Notes.
