London Art Fair 2011
The London Art Fair is one of the UK's most extensive and best established Modern British and Contemporary art fairs. There is always a staggering range of work on offer, from painting to video, drawing to photography and installation. Whether or not you consider yourself a budding art investor, it is definitely worth a visit, if only to keep abreast of the kinds of work produced by today's cutting-edge artists.
From 19th January
Gabriel Orozco @ Tate Modern
Gabriel Orozco's adventurous and playful sculptures come to Tate Modern. He draws on his native Mexican history using found and man-made objects to create elaborate pieces, such as his painted human skull and a Citroen DS car split into three perfect pieces. There's also photography, drawing and painting on show.
From 28th January
Diana Thater – Chernobyl @ Hauser & Wirth
Diana Thater has braved the radioactive landscape of Chernobyl to capture the desolation as well as the thriving wildlife that the absence of humans has created. This large-scale video installation will fill the space of Hauser and Wirth's Piccadilyl gallery space. Sounds prettty amazing to us.
