July: London Exhibitions

The Spoonfed Arts Team pick out the biggest exhibitions opening in London this July.

Zabludowicz

From 7th July
We Will Live, We Will See @ Zabludowicz Collection
This summer marks the culmination of the first curatorial open at Zabludowicz Collection. Pavel S Pys was selected back in March to curate a show, with a £40,000 budget and unlimited access to the Collection. The resultgin show features work by a host of big names – like Miroslaw Balka, Richard Prince, Goshka Macuga and Phil Collins (no, not that one...)

From 14th July
High Arctic @ National Maritime Museum
A completely immersive, experiential exhibition, that explores one way in which we might remember the Arctic, should the doomsayers be proved right, and the whole thing melt by 2100. There's no screens to touch, no photographs, no text on the walls (a particular plus from our point of view); rather High Arctic is a complete environment in which one is let loose to explore.

From 15th July
Jake or Dinos Chapman @ White Cube
The brothers Chapman take over both White Cubes this summer with an exhibition of new work. Frequently referencing works by the likes of Goya, William Blake, and Rodin, the Chapman Brothers often utilise confrontational imagery: pornography, torture, mutilation, Nazism and death.

From 23rd July
Royal Fabergé @ Buckingham Palace
Uh oh! It's Fabergé egg time over at Buckingham Palace this summer, as the royals exhibit over 100 beautiful objects produced by the world famous Russian jeweller Peter Carl Fabergé in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. We love Fabergé eggs - our office is full of them - and this looks like being one of the sparkliest events of the year.

30th-31st July
Gladiator Games @ Guildhall Yard
Two days of Roman-style gladiatorial games this July in Guildhall Yard, organised by the folks over at Museum of London. Taking place in London's only Roman ampitheatre, this promises to be quite the most dramatic event of the summer. "Are you not entertained?"
