Kate Moss Hopes to start music career with aid of The Kills

Kate Moss seems to be working her way into a position to start a career in music. The ex-girlfriend of Pete Doherty has already sung on a couple of Babyshambles and Primal Scream tracks, and seems determined to now have her own release.
The model has recently joined PRS, an organisation that collects royalties for musicians, songwriters and composers, and the move might suggest that she intends on writing and recording more of her own music in the near future.
Her current boyfriend Jamie Hince, member of the indie rock band The Kills, will most likely be supporting her in this new endeavour. The Sun quoted an anonymous source stating 'He's so used to hearing Kate sing, at home and in karaoke, that he's tempted to give it a go. She makes no secret of wanting to record more stuff.'
Another explanation however is that Kate is trying to claim royalties for the collaborations she did with Doherty. She had previously co-written a few songs on his album 'Shotters Nation', including 'You Talk', 'French Dog Blues' and 'Deft Left Hand'. PRS stated 'Kate has co-written some songs with Doherty and she will now be able to collect her share of the royalties.' But those songs were recorded back in 2007, so it is hard to tell what the move signifies.
It's unusual for someone to move from the world of modeling into singing, and who can say what sort of music she will make. A friend said 'She has never considered herself constrained by being a model. She loves music and loves musicians and is starting to take the whole thing a lot more seriously.'
But her relationship with Kills guitarist Hince has reportedly caused tension between him and band mate Allison Mosshart, so who can tell what's round the corner, or whether the project will take flight.
