The Spoonfed Comedy team select the top 5 gigs in London this May.

30th April-1st May
Comedy Crawl @ various venues in Camden

Start the beginning of the month with a bang at the Comedy Crawl takes over Camden for a weekend of jam-packed mirth. More than 100 comedians are set to perform across seven venues over two evenings, with some of London's top clubs and promoters curating the bills. Comedy fans - you don't want to miss this.

Thursday 5th May-Saturday 7th May

Frisky & Mannish @ Jackson's Lane

The pop parodists are back with a rollicking college sequel to their triumphant debut show: School of Pop. Following another sell-out Edinburgh Festival stint and runs at the Sydney Opera House and Melbourne Comedy Festival, Frisky & Mannish are now touring the UK with one London stop in Jackson's Lane Theatre. Expect more flamboyant pop posturing and music mash-ups, as the quirky double act pay homage to some of pop history's greatest contributors, including Brandy and Monica, Freddie Mercury and What's her-face-Operabitch.

Tuesday 19th May-Saturday 4th June
New Art Club @ Soho Theatre

New Art Club is back with its latest piece of genre defining stand-up dance, as Tom Roden and Pete Shenton, one of the most unique acts in comedy, bring together the most explosive moments from a decade of award-winning shows. Relive some classic moments including inappropriate country dancing to Heaven 17, a wonderfully twisted ensemble game of peekaboo and the hilarious 'Various Monsters'.

Tuesday 24th May

Channel 4 Comedy Gala
@ The O2

The UK's biggest stand-up show returns for a second year at the O2. Some of the best international and local comedic talents have signed up to participate, including TV and radio personality Alan Carr, The Mighty Boosh's Noel Fielding, Michael McIntyre, energetic tour de force Lee Evans, cake-loving Geordie lass Sarah Millican and many, many more yet to be confirmed. Tickets are an eye-watering £60 but all proceeds go to Great Ormond Street Hospital and you get a gazillion top comics all on one bill.

Wednesday 25th May
Somewhere Over The David O'Doherty @ Bloomsbury Theatre

The well-loved, easygoing Irishman returns. David O'Doherty brings his 1986 plastic keyboard down to the Bloomsbury for some daft songs, whimsical ideas and lo-fi posturing. Winner of the 2010 Irish Comedian of the Year Award.
