North Londoner’s N-Dubz and X-Factor runners-up JLS, each took home two Mobo awards last night at the award ceremonies held in Glasgow.

N-Dubz claimed the prize for Best UK Act and Best Album, while JLS took Best UK Newcomer and Best Song for their single ‘Beat Again’.

There was some controversy when grime hotshots Dizzee Rascal and Tinchy Stryder failed to win an award as expected, despite being nominated for three.

After the event rapper Dappy of N-Dubz supported Tinchy Stryder, with whom he recorded the successful track ‘Number 1’ earlier in the year, saying ‘There's no-one like Tinchy, nobody's doing what he's doing, nobody's got his swagger. I'm really upset. He should have won something.’

Marvin Humes from JLS said, ‘I never thought we would be here. I never thought we'd get nominated, and I never thought we would win two awards.’

Dappy also revealed today his wishes to collaborate with Gary Barlow of Take That. The boy band member had been playing around with N-Dubz in the studio and is reportedly writing some material for their new album.
