Notting Hill Carnival 2009

Notting Hill Carnival 2009

by: Spoonfed Team

In less than 24 hours Notting Hill Carnival will be underway, with millions of people dancing in the streets around West London. We've been building up to it for a couple of weeks now and we've put together the definitive Carnival guide to what to see and do, including advice and carnival reminiscences from star performers including Norman Jay, Gaz Mayall and the Rif Raf /  Snowbombing crews.

The weather forecast is fine, and we've got a huge crew going this year on Sunday and Monday. Twitter users can keep in touch with us on the #nhc09 hashtag Latest news is that the floats have been asked not to turn the sound up too high this year. And the best guess is that they'll roundly ignore this! What's the point of bass played off a truck if it doesn't wobble your face?

There's a list of Carnival resources below, including a map and some Frequently Asked Carnival Questions and a Beginner's Guide to Carnival. But the most important things to remember this year are cash, and sunscreen – yay!

This Sunday we're starting with the floats before having an early session at Good Times – then we're going back South via Rampage, and we'll probably end the day chilling at Gaz's Rockin Blues. On Monday, let's just say plans are a bit looser. There might be some dancing. And we're psyched for Major Lazers!

Alright party people – see you there! Don't forget your smile.
