Naima Khan selects the five best film events taking place across London this month.

1st- 20th November
UK Jewish Film Festival @ Various venues
The best thing about the Jewish Film Festival, aside from its variety, is its clever double screenings of short films by independent film makers (like Don't Tell Santa You're Jewish) just before massive feature films (like Barney's Version). Screenings this year take place at Odeon Swiss Cottage, Tricycle Theatre, Everyman Hampstead and other venues.

19th November
Planet Earth Live @ The Barbican
This is one for people who like films with prominent soundtracks. Conductor George Fenton matches the awe-inspiring footage of the BBC series Planet Earth with the music of a live orchestra as they perform the score.

14th November
Future Shorts @ Hackney Picture House
A collection of short films from all over the world get some screen time in Hackney as part of the international Future Shorts Film Festival. Films include Michael Please's 9-minute stop-motion animation, The Eagleman Stag, the 19-minute, Oscar-winning God of Love, Ruben Östlund's hilarious take on a failed bank-robbery and Deeper Than Yesterday by Ariel Kleiman.

14th November
Doc Days @ Curzon Soho
Anyone interested in new forms of documentary should make time for this screening and Q&A with Anca Damian whose documentary about a wrongly imprisoned Romanian man in Poland is a surprisingly matter-of-fact animated depiction of his life and his time in prison.

Saturday 26th
Twin Peaks UK Festival @ Riverside Studios
Because there's just no end to David Lynch's surreal creation or the conversations you can have about it, or the live performances you can create from it, Riverside Studios is hosting a festival of all things Twin Peaks including a screening of Fire Walk With Me
