Macca hints at setting up shop in the O2 Arena

Ex-Beatles legend Paul McCartney has suggested that he would like to do an extended run at London's O2 Arena ahead of playing the last date of his European tour there this Tuesday, 22nd December.
Speaking on the subject of a London residency in an interview with Geoff Thomas on Absolute Radio, McCartney said: "I quite fancy that. Last time I ever did that was when The Beatles used to do Christmas shows, and it was brilliant because you would be there for a week or two".
McCartney's desire to do a series of dates in London goes hand in hand with his assertion that he would have liked to play more live shows across the UK in general on his current tour. In the same interview, he stated: "[My promoter] had a brilliant idea of the Union Jack Tour, it was going to be Scotland, England, Wales, Ireland, but he couldn’t get the availability at such short notice".
The ageing superstar's current 'Good Evening Europe' Tour comes in support of his recently released live album, 'Good Evening New York City'.
